Food Assistance

Our Emergency Food Box Program is operated without public funding, so community support is vital!

Please bring any food donations to our Food Pantry, located at 3445 SW Moss St. We accept produce and non-perishable items, but unfortunately can't take refrigerated or frozen items from private individuals, since we cannot verify that they were stored properly. Thank you!

Donation Hours:
Monday: 9:00 am–5:00 pm
Tuesday: 9:00 am–12:00 pm
Wednesday: 9:00 am–5:00 pm
Thursday: 9:00 am–7:00 pm

Emergency Food Boxes

A family or household may receive two food boxes per month. The food box will contain food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (as available). The food box is intended to supply your family with enough food for 3-5 days. The Food Pantry is located behind our main offices, at 3445 SW Moss St, Portland, OR 97219.

Food Pantry Hours:
Monday: 10:00 am–12:00 pm and 1:30–5:00 pm
Wednesday: 10:00 am–12:00 pm and 1:30–5:00 pm
Thursday: 3:00–8:00 pm

Please check in no later than 15 minutes before closing in order to receive a food box.

Eligibility Guidelines

You are eligible to receive food assistance from Neighborhood House if you are currently participating in the Food Stamp Program, TANF, SSI, LIEAP, or State General Assistance, or if your income is equal to or below:

Food boxes contain a mix of perishable and non-perishable items. Additionally, we often have donated baked goods, produce, and other perishable items, which may be accessed outside at any time during our regular business hours. Please bring your own shopping bags.

Our Emergency Food Box Program is the largest food pantry program on Portland’s west side, serving an average of 600-700 families each month. The program relies completely on community support. Donations of food or funds are always needed. Neighborhood House is an equal opportunity provider.

Please note that you will need to reside in our area to receive a food box. A driver's license or piece of mail with name matching your photo ID is accepted as proof of address.

We serve people living in Portland, west of the Willamette River.
