The Food Pantry is now the Free Food Market!
We’ve changed our name, but we still offer food to neighbors in need, both in-person and by delivery. Services will not change for existing or new shoppers, just our name.
In 2024, the Free Food Market will move into a larger, more accessible space on Barbur Blvd, less than one mile from its current site in Multnomah Village. It’ll be a bigger space with more room to move around and more food options. We want to create a space that best suits the needs of our neighbors.
Please feel free to discuss your ideas for the new space with the Market staff.
Order Food Delivery Here
We offer limited deliveries in the nearby SW area. To order a food box to be delivered please use the online order form or email TheMarket@nhpdx.org. Please note the email address has changed with our new name. The Market phone number is temporarily out of service. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Delivery takes place during normal Market hours and is free to clients.
*Please note – clients need to fill out a new order form for every delivery, up to twice per month.

Food Assistance
Neighborhood House operates the largest Free Food Market on Portland’s west side, providing families and individuals in need with healthful food options in a supportive and respectful space. Free food delivery is available and clients can order online. The Market offers shopping choices both in person and online, with plenty of healthful dietary and cultural options, including vegan, halal, and gluten-free.
If you currently receive food assistance from TANF, LIEAP, food stamps or other government programs, the Neighborhood House Market is here to help!
Households may receive two food boxes per month. A food box contains healthful food and is intended to supply families with ingredients for 2 weeks of meals.
Food boxes include a mix of perishable and non-perishable items. Additionally, we often have extra donated baked goods, which may be accessed at any time during our regular business hours (please bring your own shopping bags).

Wednesday: 10:00 am-4:00 pm (Closed 12-1 pm)
Thursday: 2:00-6:00 pm

Food Donations
The Free Food Market operates without public funding, relying solely on community support. Your donations make a difference in your neighbors’ lives every day. Please bring any food donations to our Market in the heart of Multnomah Village. We accept produce and non-perishable items, but we cannot take refrigerated or frozen items from private individuals. Please note that our volunteers have to check the sell-by date on each and every item donated, so donations of flats or cases save time and are greatly appreciated!
