Positive Charge! PDX is Making Change One Good Deed at a Time

Founded in 2016, Positive Charge! PDX (PC) is a local nonprofit making a big difference in the community.

Neighborhood House first partnered with PC in 2020 when volunteers from the Bridlemile neighborhood reached out about a plan to collect food donations for the Neighborhood House Food Pantry. What started with one neighborhood collecting food once a week has turned into a broad, community effort. Now called Two Can Tuesday, this food collection project has provided nearly 46,000 lbs of food for the pantry. That’s an astounding 54,920 meals for food-insecure neighbors.

Neighborhood House is also excited to partner with PC on their Compassion Through Literature project, a “multipronged, communitywide project about You, Me, and Us to increase understanding and inclusion among our neighbors by discussing and sharing literature.” As part of this project, PC has plans to donate a Little Free Library to our SW housing site. This library will be stocked with books for all ages donated by Multnomah County Library and other partners.

We invite you to join PC at the Hillsdale Farmers’ Market on Sunday, May 15 to learn more about the Compassion Through Literature project, their other work, and how you can get involved. For more information on Positive Charge!, click here.
