What’s the only thing better than delicious food? A wonderful community partner (who makes delicious food)!
In early 2021, Sesame Collective co-owner Jamal Hassan reached out to Neighborhood House out of the blue and offered to support the SW HOPE Community Food Drive. This phone call launched a dedicated partnership between Sesame Collective and Neighborhood House.
Since then, Sesame Collective’s five restaurants (Mediterranean Exploration Company, Shalom Y’all, Lil’ Shalom, Bless Your Heart Burgers, and Yalla) have raised over $12,300 for Neighborhood House and the Food Pantry. Sesame Collective has come up with creative ways to fundraise for Neighborhood House, including donating $1 for every Love Burger sold at Bless Your Heart Burgers.
They’re also eager to get hands-on – during the Winter Wishes Gift Drive last year, staff from Sesame Collective came and sorted through donations.
We are excited to partner with Sesame Collective for SW HOPE this year as they host Dine out to Donate nights (meaning 10% of proceeds support SW HOPE) at four of their restaurants across the 6-week campaign. They’re even hosting a Dine out to Donate TONIGHT, February 1, at Shalom Y’all on SE Taylor St. Stop by and enjoy some delicious food for a good cause!
