SW HOPE Community Food Drive
Since 2007, the SW community, businesses and faith communities have worked in partnership to combat food insecurity. With a growing number of food-insecure households, the SW Hope annual food and fund drive helps ensure no family goes hungry in our community. SW Hope supports the Neighborhood House Free Food Market, one of the largest food banks on Portland’s west side.
Join SW Hope today to keep the spirit of generosity flowing.
SW HOPE
Community Food Drive February 18 – April 11 2026
This time of year is a challenge to keep shelves stocked in food banks, when donations decline after the holidays. Please support SW Hope 2026 with a donation, participating in an event and spreading the word! We rely on you, the SW community, to help make sure the largest food bank on the west side can remain an important resource for your neighbors.
Thank you for spreading the word about SW Hope, encouraging your communities to take part and donate, and for being a part of our amazing SW community that values helping neighbors.
Thank you to our sponsors!

What is the Free Food Market?
Neighborhood House operates one of the largest food banks on Portland’s west side, providing free, culturally specific food to more than 11,000 individuals every year. People can shop in person at The Market or order a food box delivery, to help people get food where they are.
What is our goal?
Can you help us provide fresh, free food to families this year? We expect more than 12,000 people to access our food security program in 2026. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to support our food security work throughout Portland.
Last year, more than 11,000 people turned to Neighborhood House’s Food Security Program. That’s a 27% increase over the past 4 years! As cuts to SNAP and other programs take effect and the cost of living continues to rise, more families are struggling to put food on the table.

How can I help?
Monetary donations are the most effective way to support our work because every $1 buys 4 pounds of food – enough for a full day’s worth of food for a household, thanks to our partnership with the Oregon Food Bank.
Please help those in need.
Food donations are gratefully accepted at any of our SW HOPE faith or community partners, or you can bring items to our Free Food Market at 8959 SW Barbur Blvd Portland OR 97219. Click here for the Free Food Market Most Needed Items List.
